Road to COP30: Local to Global
Posted
August 29, 2025
A series of online events from Columbia Global Centers showcases regional experts discussing what their communities want to see happen at the U.N. climate conference in Belém, Brazil this November.
How will the decisions and deals reached by policymakers at this year's COP30 actually affect communities around the world?
The journey of virtual discussions hosted by our Global Centers begins in Beijing and ends in Rio de Janeiro, with each conversation investigating the big questions shaping local climate conversations and how they connect to global climate negotiations.
The diverse blend of perspectives includes Columbia scholars, local experts and advocates, and young people who grew up living with these issues as a daily part of their lives.
