The World is Calling: How Columbia Students Are Seizing Global Opportunities
Columbia Global helps students identify the right global opportunity, through programming, study abroad, internships, fellowships and more
What does it mean to be a global citizen in today’s interconnected world? At Columbia University, it means stepping beyond campus to explore, engage, and make an impact. Through Columbia Global, undergraduate students have access to a centralized hub of study abroad programs, internships, fellowships, research initiatives, and more — designed to expand horizons and nurture future leaders.
Columbia Global is committed to making global engagement both accessible and meaningful for every student. With the integration of the Center for Undergraduate Global Engagement (UGE), the university now serves as a one-stop hub for international opportunities. By combining UGE’s expertise with Columbia Global’s expansive network of Global Centers, partnerships, and programs, students can seamlessly plan international experiences aligned with their academic aspirations and personal goals.
This commitment to empowering students came to life at the Undergraduate Global Opportunities Fair, where attendees discovered the breadth of Columbia Global’s offerings. From study abroad programs to scholarships, internships, and fellowships, students had the chance to explore a range of pathways to global engagement. In addition, five Columbia students shared their unique global experiences on a panel, inspiring peers with stories of cultural immersion and academic growth.
Ines Jabri, a senior at Columbia University majoring in financial economics and a former Kraft Fellow, shared her global journey at the event. “I took part in the panel discussion to talk about my experience as a Kraft Fellow in Chile,” she said. “I thought it was a great opportunity to share with my peers one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.”
The Kraft Global Fellowship is one of many student programs offered through Columbia Global’s suite of opportunities. This program allows students to travel to Columbia’s Global Centers and explore the religions, cultures, and communities of their destination. Programs like these empower students to connect with the world and create meaningful impact far beyond campus.
